Genuine Dermaroller Therapy
The treatment is undertaken by our aesthetics nurse practitioners. The treatment involves the use of a medical device which produces thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. The column closes rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin first to make the treatment more comfortable. It normally takes 30 mins for the anaesthetic cream to work and 20-30 mins are required for the treatment itself.
After this treatment your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and the blood supply to the skin is enhanced. Visible signs of regeneration take about 6 weeks and the process continues for months.
The treatment will usually consist of a series of 2-3 dermaroller procedures approximately 6 weeks apart. For some skin scarring it make be necessary to extend the the therapy sessions.
