Mr. McCormick is an eye surgeon, who specialises in eyelid (oculoplastic), tear duct (lacrimal) and orbital surgery in the NHS. His area of expertise in cosmetic surgery is blepharoplasty, also known as eye bag surgery. In addition he performs non-surgical facial cosmetic treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers (Restylane).
He graduated from Sheffield Medical School in 1997. He undertook his ophthalmology training in Sheffield and his higher surgical training in the Mersey Region. He has completed two separate 12 months specialist training fellowships in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery. The first was in Auckland, New Zealand and the second at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He is currently the only cosmetic ophthalmic oculoplastic surgeon practicing in Liverpool.
He regularly attends the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and European Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ESOPRS) meetings. He is a reviewer for the Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology Journal. He has written numerous research papers and presented his research at national and international meetings.
