Keraflex

Keraflex is a new procedure for the management of keratoconus which uses microwave energy carefully delivered to the mid-periphery of the cornea using a special machine. This procedure flattens the cone and helps to produce a more regular shape to the cornea. It is used in combination with collagen cross linking to achieve the best optical effect as well as the best degree of stability.

Pellevé

What is Pellevé (pronounced Pell - ev - hay)?

Pellevé is a new, safe, comfortable skin tightening procedure which helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines without surgery, injections or laser treatments. The side effects and discomfort of the treatment are minimal, and no drugs or injections are used during the procedure. The overall result for the majority of clients is a noticeable improvement in skin quality and appearance, and a refreshed feeling.

How does Pellevé work?

Using advanced radio wave technology, Pellevé heats the deep layers of your skin without damaging the surface of your skin. Treatment with Pellevé produces a deep warming sensation each time the Pellevé hand piece touches the area being treated. The heat causes the collagen in your skin to contract and tighten which in turn reduces wrinkles and lines. After the treatment, your skin will start to produce new collagen and the result is an improvement in skin quality, skin tightness and skin firmness which you can see and also feel.

Is it painful?

Unlike other skin tightening treatments, Pellevé doesn’t require any form of anaesthesia or any skin cooling. Because the skin is not numb, you can describe the level of deep skin heating to the clinician who is undertaking the treatment and indicate the point at which this becomes uncomfortable. This feedback helps to provide the best results in the area being treated.

Which areas can be treated with Pellevé?

Pellevé can be used to treat the skin of the face including the wrinkled area around the eyes. It can also be used to treat the jowls, the neck and the décolletage area.

The ideal candidate

Pellevé is best suited to those who are starting to see signs of aging in the face: early jowling, loose skin, creases and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It is not a substitute for a face lift. If you have heavy jowling, a “turkey-gobbler” neck, and marked skin laxity of the face and neck, you are unlikely to see much improvement after Pellevé.

What side effects can occur with Pellevé treatment?

Possible side effects of Pellevé radio wave treatment include a mild discomfort during the procedure within the area being treated. There may also be some mild redness and/or swelling for a short period of time after the treatment. This will usually disappear within a few hours.

How long does the treatment take?

Your Pellevé skin tightening procedure will usually take about 45 to 60 minutes for a full facial treatment.? The treatment of a single area e.g. the jowls, takes about 20 minutes. Pellevé wrinkle reduction programme is suitable for both men and women and, unlike laser treatments and intense pulsed light treatments, it works well on most skin types.

When will I see results?

Many people will start to see results straight after the initial treatment with lasting improvement for up to six months as your skin produces new collagen. The treatment typically requires 2 separate sessions, each separated by approximately 6-8 weeks. The treatment can be repeated. After the second session the results typically last for approximately 12 months.

Pellevé has been proven to provide safe and effective skin tightening in published medical studies. Because Pellevé is a non-invasive procedure, meaning no surgery is required and no injections are given, there are minimal side effects and discomfort, and you can return home or go to work immediately following the treatment.

How much does Pellevé cost?

This is based on the number of areas to be treated:

One area   £450 (or £800 for 2 treatments *)

Full face   £800 (or £1500 for 2 treatments *)

Neck                £450 (or £800 for 2 treatments *)

An area is defined as:

  • Hairline and eyes down to cheek bones
  • Cheek bones down to jowls
  • Full face is the above combined

* This price applies to 2 treatments paid for in advance

You will receive a free consultation with our aesthetics nurse practitioner who will advise you of your suitability for the treatment and the costs, and who will answer any questions you may have.

We also have an excellent range of other non-surgical services and products which may be of interest to you. We can also arrange a consultation with one of our expert surgeons if your problems are better addressed surgically.

Pellevé radio wave wrinkle reduction system has the USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for treatment of skin lines and wrinkles.

At the Face and Eye we are pleased to offer a 20% discount on all of our new Restylane skincare range. Whereas Restylane dermal filler treatments create volume definition and hydration from within, Restylane skin care products protect, hydrate and nourish the upper and outer layers of your skin to provide a healthy glowing radiance. They contain a form of stabilised hyaluronic acid..

Did you know?
One of the biggest benefits of hyaluronic acid is that it is able to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Hyaluronic acid is extremely hydrophilic, meaning it has the ability of attracting and holding water due to is molecular structure. The more water it is able to hold, the more plump and smooth the skin will look.

Combine injections of hyaluronic acid with topical hyaluronic acid containing products and provide an intense hydrating effect to the skin.

Restylane and Juvederm are two of the more popular dermal filler injectable treatments with over 10 million treatments undertaken worldwide each year.

Come along to the clinic and we will be very happy to discuss your individual needs. Consultations with our aesthetics nurse are free and available every day to discuss issues such as:

What is the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin?
Although used interchangeably, dry skin and dehydrated skin are not one and the same. Dry skin is an imbalance in the body that causes the skin to lack essential oils. It can be caused by the absence or malfunction of sweat or sebaceous glands whereas dehydrated skin is skin that's been stripped of moisture. It can be aggravated by an improper diet, a dry atmosphere, sun, wind and heat, not drinking enough water, and certain medications as well as the aging process. Although they are all different the remedies are similar. Drink plenty of water, exfoliate often to unblock pores and protect with a moisturiser, and an SPF of 30 or above.

We would recommend:

Agera Microderma system as an excellent exfoliating vitamin C treatment

Epionce Renewal Facial Lotion as a hydrating and reparative lotion, reversing the visible signs of aging

Epionce Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 for all skin types.

We look forward to providing you with expert care and understanding.
We are very attentive and approachable.
