Experience
He has performed more than 1000 squint operations for NHS patients from all over the Northwest and private patients from Europe, Africa and Middle East. Adult squints often representing complex challenges, he has managed to salvage many failures from operations undertaken elsewhere.
He offers adult squint surgery under ‘twilight anaesthesia‘ as a day case operation at the Face & Eye Clinic.
Neuro-ophthalmology is a small sub-specialty and with his expert knowledge and experience, he has helped many patients who had been given up on by other doctors. He has an excellent rapport with neurologists and neuro-surgeons in the region, who refer patients for his expert opinion. Recognising his excellence in service, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital has honoured him with an award.
He is active in research and has authored many scientific peer-reviewed papers. He is a reviewer for the strabismus section of British Journal of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the International Strabismus Association and the British and Irish Neuro-ophthalmology Club.
Quality control is absolutely essential to remain as well reputed. In his role as the audit lead for Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, he is constantly reviewing benchmarking and performing quality checks.
